
What happened
On 9 February 2026, we discovered that a third party gained unauthorised access to an older version of the Getly platform. This “legacy” system was used during our early stages and was separate from our current app.
As a result of our investigation so far, we have concluded that the data accessed included some historical personal information, specifically user identification documents.
No funds, active passwords, or current account information were involved. Our current systems remain safe, and you can continue to use the Getly app as normal.
Because identification documents were affected, it’s possible you will receive phishing or scam messages.
What we’re doing
We have successfully retrieved all files that were accessed and have plugged the existing loopholes within the old system. We are also implementing further high-level security measures to harden our legacy environments. We have also taken the following measures to address the breach; Reported the incident to the National Data protection Commission on 10 February 2025 and paused certain communication channels temporarily as a precaution.
What you should do
Remain vigilant against phishing or scam attempts, including unexpected communications asking for personal or financial information or “confirming” your ID.
Don’t click on links or download attachments in suspicious emails or SMS.
Be aware that phishing attempts may appear to come from Getly when they have not. If you are in doubt about whether a message is authentic, please contact us directly.
Although password information has not been affected, we suggest that you maintain a secure password and update it regularly. Remember that we will never ask you for your OTP or password.
